Counter-Terrorism Simulation Live Video Dashboard

This project posed an interesting set of challenges. While a typical website usually has a long life and requires care and feeding, this application corresponded to a time critical event: a day-long simulation of terrorism events and responses. A role playing exercise for students at the IU School of Law at IUPUI, the simulation and the accompanying dashboard gave viewers a front row seat into the participants' decision making and situation handling as mock events unfolded.
Each thumbnail on the left represents a live video feed, streaming from an Adobe Flash Media Server. These corresponded to various locations: the White House, the Indiana State House, the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, etc. The application, written in the Flex framework using the Flex Builder IDE, allowed the user to switch between the video sources in real time.
The application also featured an RSS driven scrolling news crawl (updated throughout the simulation) and an event countdown timer.
